NATIONAL Action Plan For Prevention of Trafficking in Persons In Uganda

The role of reception centres in supporting people out of exploitation

This National Action Plan (NAP) has been developedthrough a participatory and consultative process. Itinvolved active participation of stakeholders fromkey ministries, departments, agencies, developmentpartners, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), InternationalOrganizations and members of the public. Key activitiesundertaken included a desk review of national laws,regional and international instruments and declarationsthat address the problem of trafficking in persons.Several workshops for members of the Anti-HumanTrafficking National Task Force were organized to discussthe various aspects of the plan and a number of consultations were also carried out with selected stakeholders, including Permanent Secretaries, Civil Societies and some International Organizations—all of whichcontributed to the outcome of this NAP.
